Spectacular Sunday….

Spectacular Sunday….

Once again the Bangalore boyz spent their weekend with a blast. And yes…. It was a real blast… blasts from the jet engines of our air force fighter planes…. The occasion was Aero India 2007, which displays the latest air power India have…. Display which will be never forgotten…..

We started at 7:30 in the morning… since the air force base was around 35+ km from our house, we loaded our self with detailed route map to the place. Finding our way, we reached the air force base at 8:30 and found that we were not the first to arrive. There were already loads of people waiting to get in to the ticket counters at the gates which opened soon. …..

Finally we were in the display area and grabbed our seats in the 2nd row from front… place where we can see the runway…. And then waited for the show to start…. And show started, but with a very small plane flying with the aero India banner at its back…. After it landed, the announcer told to watch the sky from where the sky divers jumped from a helicopter …. As there parachutes opened, we were able to see the tri colour parachute… And then the actual show started as the sarang team with their three dhruv helicopters started to display ….. the helicopters was just doing thing which you cant imagine ….. moving ahead, sideways, and also back, they displayed great stunts....

And then came the fighter planes….to start was the Gripen … it positioned itself on the runway, ready to take off…. And there it started rolling…. And in no time was airborne…. The sound of the jet engines was amazing… just flying 300 – 400 feet above ground, the air display it showed was just amazing which cannot be described in words…. You have to be there to see it…. Hats off to the fighter pilots….. Then came the F16, F18, the Russian MIG, Sukhoi, and our own Indian made world smallest fighter jet, Tejus. All off them just blasting their jet engines at full throttle at the speeds of 800 to 1200 km per hour … In between some heavy duty as well as small planes displayed their abilities….

Then the grand finale…. The Suryakiran team… 9 aircrafts flying together in a formation just 3 to 5 meters apart…. All of the nine aircraft took off the ground simultaneously …. It looked spectacular with all the 9 planes taking off at same time with A.R. Rehamans “Vande Mataram” been played at the back ground … Once they were air borne, they displayed precision great stunts for 20 mins…..

All together it was a great experience that can be experienced again and again…..
Next Aero India show is in 2009, and hope that all BloodyMaryBoyz will be here to witness the gr8 event…..
