A trip to London

Tring.......Tring.......Tring......... If you are wondering if this is telephone bell then let me tell you....its my wake-up for Saturday morning 5:30am Wondering why... co I was going to London.... Pulling myself out of the comfort of the bed in early hours in 0DegC... I was ready to visit London... My Bus started at around 7:00 am from st. Margaret Bus Stand.... It takes 3hr30min to reach from London from Leicester... So I reached London at around 10:20am... Amya was going to Join me at 11:20am at Victoria Coach Station Platform 7... And I had a job to find the Bus stand for catching a bus to Madame Tussauds... the Info we had was ok but not the right one... so I went up to Green Line Coach Station to inquire... I found that a different service operates for the destination... and now I had to find the stop for Service 2... MAPS are the best guides... and I had one with me... but needed some help which the Englishmen and Englishwomen happily offered me... Now it was time for me to wait for Amya... Things were going to be very Fast as we had a tour booked at 12 noon.... I was waiting for Amya at platform 7 and was getting nervous as the clock was ticking... Amya landed at the stop at 1130am... late as usual... I told him "Run Amya Run, we have Bus to catch and ticket to buy" We walked fast to the Victoria Bus Stop H which I had already located.... Got a Day Pass... and we were on the Service 2... now it was time to find where to get down... Driver told us to get down at Bakers street... Amya was on one side and I was on other side to see the Baker Street... As it was suppose to happen we missed our stop and got down at next stop.. it was just 5 min to go... Again I said to Amya "Run Amya Run" And the Race begin...and we found it..."Madame Tussaude... A place where you cant make a differene between who is live and who is statue... You really need to keep a eye on floor... if the person in front of you is standing on circle board with a label... then its a statue... else its alive.... It is one of the most amazing display work by an Artist... You have to see it... pic will only give you glimpse... After going through the floors of statues we entered Chamger Live... Chamber Live is a place...which is created like haunted path...where there are live people dressed dead... And they try to scare you and all the woman...keeps doing Uh Ahhhh....AAAAAAA.....YAAAA.... Funny place for me though....never mind....Unfortunately photography is not allowed inside the chamber... After Chamber Live comes the tour of Spirit of London... A Marvelous Display of History of London....a amazing experince.... again no photography.. You shouldn't miss it for any chance....very nice.... After tht comes a theater round...where a small movie is shown....bla bla bla.... Once out of theater you land in a gift shop.... wow wow wow.... I have some gifts... surprise....hehehhehe it was a marvelous experience... should not me missed at all.... I Rate it as one of the Best... So it was now 1:30pm...food time but no time for food....so we had quick fast food... Went bak to Victoria and went to Buckingham palace.... Very Good road to the Palace... the palace is a really beauty... The guards keep patrolling the palace in disciplined manner... the Guards Guards the Palace.. and Police Guards the Guards.... My Wonderful Camera allowed me to go 12X Optical and 48X optical to Guards....check out the snaps... Then we headed towards Tower Bridge.... again a master work.... I will rate this bridge no.2 in the bridges I have seen (no.1 position is already taken by Sydney harbor Bridge...) As the Daylight starting fading, the night light took over....it feels wonderful to see the changes.... We spend sometime there and then headed towards PICADILLY CIRCUS... Most of you must seen this in TV or Film... Excellent Display of Advt. here... have a look at snaps.... We had our fast food again and headed by to Victoria as we had to catch a coach at 2100 We landed at Amya's place at 2330.... Our Fortunes were good.... it was time for UK to switch back clocks at 0159 back to 0100 to end daylight saving.... and give us extra one hour to sleep as we had a bus again at 7:30 in morning.... The Day was cloudy and slight drizzle... typical English Weather... We reached Victoria and got a tube pass.... We went to Westiminister and the plan was to get on London Eye... So there we were on the London eye as planned.... This is again a very good attraction and experience which you can have.... London Eye is the PANORAMA of London.... Excellent view....Check out pictures.... It Take 30-40 min to complete one rotations... and gives you life time experience.... Big Ben and Westminister Abey is just across the Bridge from Londn eye... We spent most of out time at Westminister... Then we took a Tube to Canary WHARP.... TALL TALL Building....Sorry I dont have pictures as it was raining.. :( then Took a Tube and reached Wembley Park... We just had a look at Wembley Stadium from outside.... Spent time in traveling in the tubes of london.... And now we were TIRED TO DEATH.... Just wanted to sit and relax... The tour ended at 2100 on Sunday when I was finally back to my Hotel... All I could do was Send you a sample picture....which I did.... And now click on the link below... and have glimpse at the pictures..... and enjoy the London Tour....

WE ARE THE WORLD

WE ARE THE WORLD...Yes thats what the headline read in yesterday's TOI. Congratulations Team India for your stupendous performance. And we surely did deserve it. One ad in TOI aptly indicated the victory with the words "Dho Dala" while showing England, SA, Australia and Pakistan tees hanging on a rope with Dhoni having a smile.

People here celebrated the victory with dhol tasha, honking cars, blaring music thro' car audio and what not. On JM Rd while PMT and ST buses were stuck in traffic jam some guys went on their roofs and started wild dancing. As for me, I watched the match with Avi in his house. After that I celebrated the victory in my brother-in-law's house with wine (popping the cork from bottle :) ). Mr.Frank, in Leicester, sent us a video of how Indians their celebrated the victory. All in all, many happy Indian faces all over the world.

Thanks Team India for giving us these joyous moments...

Mr. Bari gets engaged

On 21st April 07 Mr. Bari was engaged to Sheetal in Yavatmal. Gracing the occasion from BloodyMaryBoyz were me and Prasanna.

It was a grand occasion as many relatives from both sides were present to bless the newly engaged.

Here’s wishing Hearty Congratulations from all BloodyMaryBoyz to Avinash for finding his better half and we all will mourn for the last bachelorhood days remaining for him.

As for me, I wont ever forget this engagement as I had forgotten the only jeans I was supposed to bring along with me. I was left with the option of wearing my kurta on a pajama (which had knee pockets). Finally I wore Avinash’s jeans who has a waist size of 30 compared to mine of 34.

Now don’t get into much detail as to how I wore it … ;-)

Mockingbird

Today I completed reading 'To kill a mockingbird' by Harper Lee. Its a nice story about a town in America in 30's. Harper Lee narrates the story thro' the eyes of Scout finch, an 8 year old daughter of a lawyer. Her lawyer dad is defending a black man who is charged of rape of a white girl. How the people in the town react to this stuff is narrated by Scout in subtle humor.

All in all a must read. Its not for nothing this book has won a Pulitzer.

LCD Monitor

On Sunday, I became the proud owner of a 17 inches LCD monitor. Its a Samsung Syncmaster 740N. Moving from a 14 inches CRT to this one is really cool. And if u have this wallpaper of Shilpa Shetty and a docket application which is just like Apple Mac's and you use a theme like this one you will never wanna leave your computer for anything... :-) Ok that was a bit hyped but it looks damn cool. Wanna know more about the monitor? Well, here it is.

Spectacular Sunday….

Spectacular Sunday….

Once again the Bangalore boyz spent their weekend with a blast. And yes…. It was a real blast… blasts from the jet engines of our air force fighter planes…. The occasion was Aero India 2007, which displays the latest air power India have…. Display which will be never forgotten…..

We started at 7:30 in the morning… since the air force base was around 35+ km from our house, we loaded our self with detailed route map to the place. Finding our way, we reached the air force base at 8:30 and found that we were not the first to arrive. There were already loads of people waiting to get in to the ticket counters at the gates which opened soon. …..

Finally we were in the display area and grabbed our seats in the 2nd row from front… place where we can see the runway…. And then waited for the show to start…. And show started, but with a very small plane flying with the aero India banner at its back…. After it landed, the announcer told to watch the sky from where the sky divers jumped from a helicopter …. As there parachutes opened, we were able to see the tri colour parachute… And then the actual show started as the sarang team with their three dhruv helicopters started to display ….. the helicopters was just doing thing which you cant imagine ….. moving ahead, sideways, and also back, they displayed great stunts....

And then came the fighter planes….to start was the Gripen … it positioned itself on the runway, ready to take off…. And there it started rolling…. And in no time was airborne…. The sound of the jet engines was amazing… just flying 300 – 400 feet above ground, the air display it showed was just amazing which cannot be described in words…. You have to be there to see it…. Hats off to the fighter pilots….. Then came the F16, F18, the Russian MIG, Sukhoi, and our own Indian made world smallest fighter jet, Tejus. All off them just blasting their jet engines at full throttle at the speeds of 800 to 1200 km per hour … In between some heavy duty as well as small planes displayed their abilities….

Then the grand finale…. The Suryakiran team… 9 aircrafts flying together in a formation just 3 to 5 meters apart…. All of the nine aircraft took off the ground simultaneously …. It looked spectacular with all the 9 planes taking off at same time with A.R. Rehamans “Vande Mataram” been played at the back ground … Once they were air borne, they displayed precision great stunts for 20 mins…..

All together it was a great experience that can be experienced again and again…..
Next Aero India show is in 2009, and hope that all BloodyMaryBoyz will be here to witness the gr8 event…..

Its time to Fly High....

Its Time to Fly High.....26th January 2007. India's 58 Republic Day. At the start in the school this day use to wake up early and force us to go to school for the flag hosting ceremony. When we got into the college life we forgort that INDIA Celebrates Republic Day....We only knew that 26th Jan is a Holiday for us to sleep in the bed till the sun is over the head and this continued but 26th January 2007 was a Day on which something we were going to do which had not done anytime, we had just seen it on TVs. Two of the Daring BloodyMaryBoyz this time had decided to Sail in the Air.....Yes Sail in the Air. Prasanna Bari & Avinash Bari had registered for Parasailing Event organised some 50km away from Bangalore. We started from Honeywell Campus at around 9am & reached the open grounds at around 10:30am. The Vendors from Club Nisarga were waiting for our group to start the Event. After a waiting for few hours our turn came to wrap the harness agaisnt us & tie the Parachute on the shoulder & the rope attached to Gypsy on our waist and we were ready to lift from the ground & be in the place where there is no land beneath your feet. Its an amazing feeling to fly in the air. Even though the event just take hardly 2min to complete its a experience of lifetime. This event has inspired us to go more higher & touch the sky and sooner than later we.....The BloodyMaryBoyz will be ready to jump off a plane & glide like a Bird to mark the opening of New Venture of the World of Para-Diving.....

Three Cheers for BloodyMaryBoyz
